Riebeeck Valley Olive Festival

We decided to take a break and drive out Malmesbury (Cape Town) way and to visit the Riebeeck Valley Olive Festival. It was a nice country drive of about 80 km out of Cape Town and we arrived at this tiny village called Riebeeck Valley - hectically busy with all the visitors. Tractors with trailers carted people from the one farm stall to the next, there were cars everywhere and lots of people walking about. Although the festival was all about olives and olive oil, there were lots of others stuff going on - food stalls, little shops selling all kinds of stuff, make shift stalls, local art displays, wine and cheese tasting (and buying), etc. There is a vibrant olive industry with a variety of cured olives and olives oil one can buy. We had a good time!
